Alda is an actor, author, and well-known activist. Best known for his characters on M*A*S*H, the West Wing, and as host of the PBS show Scientific American Frontiers. He is an outspoken skeptic and his lifelong passion for science spurred him to found the Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University, a collaboration with the university's School of Communication and Journalism, with support from Brookhaven National Laboratory and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
Inducted posthumously, Bell was a broadcaster and author who founded the paranormal-themed radio program Coast to Coast. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and avid ham radio operator - but most of all, he was a storyteller. He once had the third-largest talk show radio audience in the country and his guests discussed everything from UFOs to protoscience.
